About our nursery
Seedlings Montessori takes children from 2 – 5 and provides a very high quality of integrated care and education for the children who attend our setting. The nursery follows the Montessori approach and offers parents a flexible mix of full day care or shorter pre-school sessions. Seedlings is a provider of ‘free’ nursery education under the Government’s nursery education funding scheme, and we are registered and inspected by Oftsed. We work within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Seedlings Montessori is also fully accredited by Montessori Education (UK), the national standards body for Montessori education.
Seedlings is on-site at Moorlands Primary School and we benefit from being part of the school community, ensuring a smooth transition for our children when they enter mainstream school for the first time. We have access to a terrific outdoor environment – big field, large tarmac area, a smaller field, a meadow and a woodland area, all in addition to dedicated, shaded, all-weather space. This makes it a popular choice for parents looking for before and after school care, and holiday club activities, which provide for children of school age, 4 – 9.
We have been running on this site since 2001 and have consistently achieved impressive Ofsted reports.
No Top-Slicing
If your child comes to Seedlings for longer than the grant-funded hours over 39 weeks, we invoice you for this additional time on a year-round basis, but we guarantee that you will be credited with the full value of the funding we receive in respect of your child’s free attendance. We do not top-slice the grant money. We offer places funded by the full 30 hours funding to families who are eligible, and who are in possession of their funding code.
