New beginnings

September is the beginning of the school year and a fresh start for everyone after their summer break. We’re delighted to see our returning children and how they have changed and developed over the summer, and also to welcome new friends.

The mixed age group in our class at Seedlings is very important, because the experienced returners do a really good job in making their new small friends feel at home.

Kathy, from the Montessori Partnership, is going to be writing regular blogs for us, focusing on how you can build on what we’re doing at Seedlings at home. Children aged between 12 and 42 months are very sensitive to order in their environment, and by organising and decluttering your child’s surroundings you will be supporting his or her development.
